Limited only by creativity, the materials available, in house skills and a little suplimented highend technology from local industry. All items are made to order, this way the quality and design is guaranteed to be the best twohands can provide. All materials are sourced locally form sustainable and ethical resources. If possible, materials are re-purposed from discarded objects and up cycled into new objects. The designs aim to meet obvious and real needs in the home and kitchen in a way that enhances the activity they are used for, whilst fulfilling the desire for beauty. Every object is designed for life, to be kept and cherished. This heirloom quality encourages you to transcend fashion and buy items the are meaningful and excite a sense of passion.
The Vision
Many consumers have been lured into the cycle of replacing products because there is a new trend or widget to replace the old one with. This is made easy because the majority of products are low priced and very accessible. For product prices to be so low there has to be a trade off. This is usually quality, variety and the fact that products are made at the cost of human values and the environment. twohands is an alternative to mass production, off shore enterprise and plastic. All twohands product will be made by one person, human hands will consider and shape every aspect of the design from the conceptual beginning to the highly detailed outcome. Packaging will be included only to protect the product to ensure it arrives to you in the same condition it left the makers hands. When you buy from twohands your order will be made especially for you. It may take a little longer… but a little anticipation enhances the experience.
The Goal
twohands started operating from a re-purposed forge and goat shed next to Hogans Rainforest in the Northern Rivers Region of New South Wales, Australia. These out buildings were originally built as temporary dwellings whilst the main house was hand made by the original owners, so it’s the perfect place to be inspired and start the business. The sound of the waterfall in the bottom corner of the property and the wind in the trees is remarkably conducive to creativity and lets the maker be immersed in creating your product. twohands has now moved to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and our inspiration comes from the ocean with her savage beauty and the hinterland with it’s many different areas of creeks, waterfalls and wonderful hiking. There is no plans for global distribution, just to make beautiful objects for people who will appreciate them.

Time with my friends, time doing things I enjoy and most of all time with my family. When we purchased twohands Australia it was about a lifestyle change for me. No more working away for long periods and missing our children growing up, and the opportunity to ‘make’ again. To supply products that are Australian made and owned. To supply quality and value.
